The Partnership “Lisbon Regions Network & Partners” is delighted to invite you to the workshop B–Creative, Creative industries for restoring growth in Europe's Regions, which will be held the 7th of October 2009. The event is organised within the framework of the annual Open Days of Regions and Cities organised by the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission Directorate-General for Regional Policy.
In the middle of the economic crisis, while traditional sectors face decreasing turnovers and job losses, the cultural and creative industries such as music, fashion, design, architecture and gaming will offer potential for the EU to remain among the top players with regards to global competitiveness. In the context of 2009 "European Year of Creativity and Innovation", the creative industry is certainly a key sector for employment and economic perspective.
In the vibrant cities and regions of the Lisbon Regions Network and its partners you will find many creative and innovative talents. In the workshop we will give these talents an opportunity to show their potential and reflect jointly upon the role that regional governments play to further stimulate their growth potential. Regional governments are important facilitators, able to gather people and ideas in a single integrated view, creating the right environment to stimulate growth and jobs in Europe.
